Care |
|
It is important to rinse the deck regularly with sea water to avoid it drying out. Nauteka recommends oils for teak, as pollution in the atmosphere may stick to the teak surface and finally penetrate the teak which turns a blackish colour instead of its original natural ash colour.
Never use chemical cleaning agents or bleach. Mild soap well-diluted may be used occasionally. |

Features |
Unlike plantations in Africa, Asia or Central America, that provide young wood with very marked grain and pale colouring, teak from Burma is found in primary forest in mountainous areas.
It grows slowly forming a very dense grain.
